Looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and hardworking individual that takes ownership and pride in their work. Interact with other members of the technical staff, components research and selection, SoS engineering, documentation, and design reviews. Understand the overall engineering process, from design kick-off to production.

CACI is seeking a cleared Mechanical Engineer to work for SIES at Glen Burnie or Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

What You'll Get to Do:
  • Analyze mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigates solutions to product or process problems
  • Work with the project managers and project engineers to ensure that design input into cost, schedule, and other project-level decisions is accurate and complete
  • Perform mechanical design on multiple projects through all phases of development and manufacturing
  • Perform trade studies, design of experiments, assembly and testing of parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Conduct peer reviews of other engineer's work products

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • An active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • 4 years of experience in the areas of mechanical design and engineering
  • Flexible and able to pivot when problems and conflicts arise
  • Thorough and work hard to understand your work deeply to create the most effective designs possible
  • The ability to work independently, and yet be able to collaborate with other design disciplines and with guidance from team leadership
  • Must have strong proficiency in creation and review of technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
  • Be fully capable of working in design teams to assist in meeting the project goals in a team-focused environment
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience supporting government projects and working closely with Program Managers
  • Experience conducting rapid trade studies and analysis of mechanical solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks Design Environment and Product Data Management (PDM)
  • Solid skills with Microsoft 365: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
