Job Title: Medical Biller/Front Desk Worker (Full-Time)

Location: Overlea, Maryland

Department: Therapy Agency

Reports to: Program Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller/Front Desk Worker to join our team in a full-time capacity. This key role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including managing office tasks, processing medical billing, maintaining Electronic Health Records (EHR), ensuring that patient files are organized, and supporting the Program Director in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Billing: Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with billing policies and regulations.

EHR Management: Efficiently update and maintain Electronic Health Records, ensuring that patient information is accurate and up to date.

Office Organization: Manage day-to-day operations of the front desk, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and greeting patients in a professional and friendly manner.

File Maintenance: Ensure patient files, both physical and digital, are organized, secure, and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Collaboration with Program Director: Work closely with the Program Director to support administrative and operational needs, ensuring smooth office workflow and assisting with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a medical biller or in a similar administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge of EHR systems and medical billing software (experience with Carelon/Availity preferred).

Familiarity with billing for OMHC, PRP, and Substance Abuse Services is required.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate patient records and files.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance providers, and team members.

Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training in medical billing or office administration is a plus.
