Overview

Computer Network Architect NAWCAD (NAWCAD-22-0150-W):

Bowhead seeks a Computer Network Architect, Junior in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Digital Networks & Applications (DNA) Department located at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Patuxent River, MD. The Computer Network Architect designs and implements computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN),intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. May also design network and computer security measures. May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.

Responsibilities

Define and execute IT policies and architectural standards.

Maintain an enterprise architecture.

Analyze and create the IT Portfolio (including projects, systems, IT workforce, and initiatives), incorporating business requirements.

Link mission needs and IT assets in an effective and efficient manner.

Support the collection of data and documentation to develop and promote IT performance measures and metrics to assess progress in meeting requirements under the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), Information Technology Management Reform Act (Clinger-Cohen), and other relevant legislation.

Qualifications

In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire.

Three (3) years or less of experience performing work related work experience and an AA/AS degree.

High School diploma or GED and 2 years of additional experience performing work related field may be substituted for an Associate's Degree.

Physical Demands: Office Environment - - The environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the various individuals and the tasks being performed. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
