Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in Towson, Maryland. This role is within the telecom provider industry and involves supporting the design, development, documentation, and maintenance of enterprise local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Responsibilities: Support the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links. Participate in the installation and configuration of hubs, switches, routers, bridges, and other related network hardware. Ensure the effective operation of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures. Contribute to the design and development of enterprise LANs and WANs. Document network infrastructures and maintain accurate records of changes and modifications. Utilize skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, Cisco Technologies, Computer Hardware, and Configuration Management. Apply knowledge in Design, Eigrp, and Firewall Technologies to enhance network performance and security. Monitor network performance and implement necessary improvements or modifications. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure the seamless operation of networks. Resolve network-related issues promptly and efficiently. Requirements Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Knowledge of Checkpoint firewall technologies Experience with Cisco ASA and Cisco Routers Familiarity with Cisco Technologies Understanding of Computer Hardware Expertise in Configuration Management Ability to contribute to Design processes Knowledge of Eigrp networking protocol Proficiency in Firewall Technologies Ability to maintain professional conduct and adhere to company policies and procedures.
