The ideal candidate will have the desire to lead in a Manufacturing environment and the skills and ability to grow into greater roles of responsibility. Hours: 4:00 PM – 2:30AM Monday - Thursday Primary Responsibilities The role will require leadership planning and directing efforts of the nighttime production supervisors in building strong working relationships with hourly production employees while supporting the Plant Manager in various production related tasks and duties. The role encompasses managing and driving process improvement, safety, quality, and employee development. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: · Develop and implement plans to meet or exceed the plant's yearly business objectives, initiatives, productivity, quality, and delivery goals. · Lead and manage teams while promoting a positive work environment focused on achieving business goals. Develop and execute staffing plan and allocate resources accordingly. Responsible for hiring, disciplinary and termination decisions, as well as cross-training to ensure adequate succession, coverage, and future development. · Lead, mentor, and coach managers and supervisors to identify enrichment/developmental opportunities and recommend training to correct deficiencies. · Manage an effective flow of communication between day shift and night shift to all levels of the organization, to ensure all leaders and personnel know strategic goals, expectations, and performance expectations. · Demonstrate an active role in the plant safety program. Conduct audits and ensure that supervisors are monitoring all personnel for desired safety behaviors. Evaluate assigned work area for safety best practices and enhance procedures to make each job safer. · Identify and implement projects or processes to drive process improvement, throughout the plant, which focuses on results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. · Manage key controllable operating expenses and develop cost control plans. Drive innovation and capital improvements through the strategic Manufacturing leadership team. · Ensure a high level of focus on NVR’s Brand Promise by monitoring area of accountability for adherence to quality goals, reviewing plant and department-specific procedures, and modifying as necessary. · Develop strong working relationships and a regular cadence of communication with cross functional leaders at the plant, to ensure operational and strategic alignment. Partner as needed with other NVR departments, such as Accounting, Homebuilding Operations, Procurement, ASD, HR, etc. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree required (business or engineering required) · MBA (preferred) · 10+ years of progressive leadership and management experience (Manufacturing experience preferred) · Excellent problem-analysis and strategic-thinking abilities · Experience communicating effectively with all levels of an organization and a strong commitment to Customer Service. · Strong planning and organizational skills · Ability to drive improvements within the organization and persuade and influence others · Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting and meeting deadlines · Ability to travel to other NVR plants and locations, as needed Life at NVR At NVR, your desire to excel is matched by our commitment to your success and we’ll give you the tools and industry knowledge you need.
