Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Sr Oracle DBA work on their project based out Rockville, MD. Job Title: Sr Oracle DBA Location: Rockville, MD (Initial Remote) Duration: Long-term Job Description:
- Oracle 19c Certified
- Ability to configure, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Oracle databases (familiarity with Oracle, MongoDB, and NoSQL databases are a plus)
- Automate routine tasks with your scripts
- Solve production problems
- Improve database backups and test recoverability regularly
- Study the database needs of our applications and optimize them
- Write documentation and collaborate with technical peers online
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to approach problems proactively and be a self-starter
- Well organized; exhibits attention to detail and a strong desire to document accurately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience writing and tuning Oracle queries to maximize performance in large data volume environments
- Experience developing Oracle (triggers, procedures, functions, views, etc.)
- Experience tuning SQL statements and working with "execution plans."
- Experience researching, gathering, analyzing, and compiling data in support of customer requests
- Experience extracting and transforming data from databases to generate reports and data exports
- Securing databases under government STIG requirements.
- Experience in migrating databases from Oracle to SQL Server is a plus
- Experience with Azure Cloud environment implementation is a plus
- Security+ Certified
- Installing and upgrading the Microsoft Oracle and application tools
- Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
- Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application
- Creating direct objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have developed an application
- Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
- Enrolling users and maintaining system security
- Ensuring compliance with your Oracle Server license agreement
- Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
- Planning for backup and recovery of database information
- Maintaining archived data on tape
