We are currently seeking to hire a Software Engineer to join our diverse team who is talented, highly motivated, has a passion for finding innovative solutions to problems, and committed to quality.Position is a flexible, hybrid role with some time required on-site in Fulton, MD each month and opportunity to work from home on other days.Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Design, architect and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
Using C, develop innovative new features and improvements for Command & Control (C2) Systems.
Work in a highly collaborate team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.
Opportunities for travel to customer sites for demos, integration and support.
Periodic travel up to 25%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years of experience
Direct experience in software development using C and related C technologies such as Boost/STL/Standard C Library
Experience in Linux environment
Experience with SW Development tools such as Jenkins or similar
Experience with full life cycle development (SDLC) preferably in all areas; software requirements gathering, design and development, debug and test
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."
Qualifications We Value:
Strong computer science fundamentals: such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval
Proactive leadership skills – proven ability to recognize issues early and to lead and motivate teams by making smaller, decisive corrections to avoid larger problems.
Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to coordinate the activities of multiple engineers working on a diversity of programs, and lead efforts that span a range of activities from proposal development/cost estimation, conceptual design and development through deployment phase of the projects
Demonstrated ability to work to a schedule and meet deliverable dates
Relevant work experience in software development using Object Oriented Design (OOO) methodologies such as Model View Controller
Experience in software development using Java
Experience and/or knowledge in programming multithreaded systems
Experience with unit-test, continuous integration and test-driven development
Experience in optimizing highly scalable systems
Ability to engage & build positive relationships with both customers as well as internal & external employees
Ability to react to change, handle tasks productively, & achieve results in a matrix environment
Ability to work with customers to provide training, demonstrations, and technical guidance
Strong oral & written communication skills & proven leadership skills
