Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a Contractor Quality Assurance Manufacturing Engineer.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist the Manufacturing Quality Control Manager in the implementation of Quality Assurance processes such as Process design and Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis associated with highly automated printed circuit board surface mount technologies & robotic electronic assembly production line for wireless communication applications.

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Performs oversight and monitoring of program risks and opportunities.

Assists in the performance of independent quality reviews to ensure compliance with contractual and customer requirements.

Work with Design Engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a rapidly-evolving production environment.

Collaborate with the Design Engineer and Manufacture Engineer to analyze process nonconformance, conduct root cause analysis, develop, and implement solutions with manufacturing associates following all customer approval processes.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction assuring process and product quality. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Use Lean and Six-Sigma quality engineering methodologies to continually improve the factory productivity, product yields, and reduce cost.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of exp or equivalent in Manufacturing or Quality Assurance Experience

Certified in Lean and/or Six Sigma - Blackbelt or Greenbelt

5+ years experience in performing Root Cause Corrective Action

Preferred Qualifications:

Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues.

Experience working with electrical design requirements and specifications.

Participate in corrective action boards using analytic techniques to identify trends in manufacturing.

Experience working with manufacturing and/or integration and test.

Experience in planning and organizing activities across multiple manufacturing locations.

Experience applying IPC Quality & Workmanship Standards electronic printed circuit assembly

Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management

Experience with DO-160

Record of increasing responsibility supporting manufacturing, electrical, and mechanical engineering organizations

Experience in evaluating circuit card assemblies for workmanship issues.

Have experience in quality planning.
