A-TEK Inc., is seeking to staff a team of software professionals to build and deploy new systems with web capabilities for our key government customers. We have an immediate opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst (Test Engineer) in support of federal clients. This position is primarily REMOTE with occasional on-site at our Rockville office and client site in Bethesda.
The Quality Assurance Analyst (Test Engineer) will inspect, test and verify consistency of design standards of existing and new software that contributes to the overall success of our products. This position contributes to the development and testing of multiple projects to build out web-based applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing web-based applications.Responsibilities:- Test and prove that the software meets major architectural requirements.
- Prove for scalability and performance of software.
- Ensure the quality of the system as a whole.
- Develop and automate tests for software validation.
- Identify failure trends and detect defect-related issues.
- Prepare file defect reports and report test progress.
- Identify and analyze application problems and recommend solutions.
- Requires a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline - Computer Science, Information Technology or Quality Assurance (related degrees and equivalent relative work experience will be considered) and 4-6 years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance Engineering or similar role.
- Technical competency in the following areas: Selenium, HP ALM, JIRA and TestNG
- Deep understanding of QA methodology; demonstrated understanding of the uses and methods of testing.
- Excellent knowledge in testing skills (design test plan and test strategy, writing test cases, executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs)
- Critical thinker with solid analysis and problem-solving skills
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to become a product expert and communicate coherently to our clients.
- Ability to learn and document complex business rules and processes.
- Familiarity with user stories and other SDLC documentation
- Agile/SCRUM experience
- Ability to work in a highly team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to be a self-starter and manage competing priorities, multi-task, and continue to meet all deadlines and commitments while remaining flexible with continually changing priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication including technical writing;must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
- Federal contracting experience supporting HHS or FDA
- JIRA and HP ALM
- Experience with the SDLC / EPLC
- Experience with data analytics and process analysis paradigms for addressing client needs.
