Responsibilities:
  • Installation, configuration, and tuning of RedHat 7 (REHL 7) and RedHat8 (REHL 8) virtual servers.
  • Design and maintain UNIX/Linux server infrastructures that support critical web-based applications and secure the servers according to the Policy Compliance Management requirements.
  • Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite System Management Platform
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution on Linux systems performance, health, configuration
  • Manage and work in a UNIX/Linux operating system and services.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve UNIX/Linux Operating System-based issues from Performance to Configuration
  • Back up and protect UNIX/Linux environments using platform-specific tools
  • Conduct system audit reviews and perform maintenance functions as required to ensure system health.
  • Resolve issues that arise in the daily administration of the UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Write and debug bash and Korn shell scripts to assist in all manner of server management.
  • Document and present status information on issues and problems at the monthly team meeting.
  • Document software changes and problem resolution steps.

Requirements
  • Strong background with Red Hat Enterprise Linux v7.x/8.x is required.
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of hands-on system administration with Linux / Red Hat experience. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification In One Or More Of The Following
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
    • Red Hat JBoss Administration (RHCJA)
  • Should be an expert in Linux Tools (RHEL 7/8, Ansible, Satellite, RHV).
  • Should be familiar with large-scale operational environments (patching, monitoring of CPUs, memory, disk utilization).
  • Experience WebSphere, Introscope, and Apache Application Server platforms for both configuration and troubleshooting of hosted applications experience.
  • Experience in PERL, Python scripting, and experience in XML
  • Experience using Linux tools such as JIRA, Splunk, Ansible, Introscope, and UCD
