PURPOSE:

The Salesforce Platform Architect will be responsible for ensuring all new and existing solutions enable our business and product teams to solve complex operational challenges designing domain-specific, multi-cloud solutions on the Salesforce Platform. The Salesforce platform Architect will guide digital transformation by aligning business and technology, selecting the right product features help drive business value and advocating best practices creating frictionless customer experiences.

Provides leadership, mentoring and counsel to senior leadership and teams. Leads planning and design sessions working with enterprise architects supporting multiple business areas. Leads development and continuous improvement of the Salesforce platform, including the definition and application of frameworks, methods, processes, and tools.

The Platform Architect is accountable for the successful delivery of solutions on the Salesforce platform according to the enterprise architecture of the organization, and the continuous assessment on future state architecture based on platform growth and future releases of the platform cloud products. The Salesforce Platform Architect designs and manages the delivery of cloud based solutions and technologies, working closely with Solutions Managers, Enterprise Architects and directly with business customers and Product Owners to architect technology solutions to meet client needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Platform Architecture
  • Own the end to end architecture of the Salesforce Platform and build the technology for taking the Platform to all customers (internal/external).
  • Partner end-to-end with Product Managers / Owners, Enterprise Architects and Business Stakeholders to understand customer requirements and translate these to a platform roadmap and future state platform architecture.
  • Manages all architecture artifacts, standards, states, and deliverables together with the architect teams, working closely together with the Design Authority.
  • Advise on cloud-based solution design.
  • Lead and mentor project team members.
  • Enforce sound development practices and ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions.
  • Work collaboratively and have very strong communication skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking.
  • Identify and lead internal strategic initiatives to grow the consulting practice; serving as an active contributor to the overall knowledge base and expertise of the community.
  • Hands-on configuration and development on the Salesforce platform.
  • Delivers High Level Architecture, Technical Solution Design Document, Environment Mgmt Plan, Development Policy, and configured and tested user stories.
  • Follow and help define coding standards. Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate design patterns are followed.
  • Ensure that all the new functionalities are built with Salesforce standard features and target architecture.
  • Day-to-day guidance and coaching for solution and integration teams.
  • Establish and control definitions, rules, principles, and standards for teams.
  • Assess, review and decisioning on all solution architecture designs.
  • Assess and review team capabilities and capability enablement plans.
  • Manage the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Salesforce implementation.
  • Ensure that all the new functionalities are built with Salesforce standard features and target architecture.
  • Day-to-day guidance and coaching for solution and integration teams.
  • Establish and control definitions, rules, principles, and standards for teams.
  • Assess, review and decisioning on all solution architecture designs.
Best Practice and Standards
  • Ensure Salesforcecapabilities are fully leveraged to drive world-class sales and serviceprocesses.
  • Design, document, build, test and deploy enhancements to Salesforce.
  • Maintain user roles and profiles, security settings, access settings etc. (User Profiles, Role Hierarchy, Sharing Rules and Security) in Salesforce.
  • Create and manage custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, custom workflow, and approval processes in Salesforce.
  • Research changes in upcoming versions of Salesforce and other integrated applications; provide recommendations when necessary to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop a plan for the structure of the database to support sales and marketing activities/reporting and enable growth.
  • Provide end user support for day-to-day CRM system maintenance.
  • Diagnose and solve technical problems.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop Salesforce platform org strategy, roadmap, and support defining the platform vision and OKRs.
  • Provide input to project, product, and enterprise technology roadmaps. Provide regular reporting on progress, issues, and opportunities related to architecture domain.
  • Participate in valuestream intake vetting and technology guidance related to Salesforce.
  • Absorb/expand/build strategy and standards (data, org, devops) including from existing artifacts.
  • Incubate/bring in/design architecture ideas for Salesforce platform to support realization of value.
  • Lead a team of salesforce admins/developers in the design, development and implementation of multiple applications across orgs and sandboxes.
  • Develop/analyze interface design documents and ensure adherence to devsec ops practices and policies.
  • Support the valuestream product teams in designing, solutioning and adherence to Salesforce best practices and standards.
  • Lead Salesforce platform routines with other product teams.
  • Review platform health working with Salesforce and product teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 10 years Experience in Architecture Domain.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 years Software design and development, software test and evaluation, software requirements management.
  • 6+ years working in Salesforce adminstration, development and architecture.
  • Salesforce Technical/Domain Architect Certification Path (see ;/li>
  • Experience with relational databases, data cleansing and reporting tools.
  • Must be technically savvy, at least some experience in coding is an asset. Must have an appetite for hands-on configuration on the platform.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Extensive understanding of the Salesforce CRM system including Sales, Service and Health Cloud.
  • Ability to architect reusable packaging and packaging dependencies to reusable code across multiple orgs to reduce code redundancies.
  • Decomposes functional and technical requirements into conceptual/architectural design, prototype, and diagrams/solutions.
  • Identifies technical risks and develops mitigation strategies; introduces and recommends industry best practices and standards for the project.
  • Experience writing complicated Apex logic that utilizes visual force pages and the new lightning web components.
  • Experience/knowledge with connectors: Salesforce, Snowflake, JDBC, S3, File Pulse, Oracle/Azure Blob connectors.
  • Experience using Visual Studio code to build DX projects, creating scratch orgs, sandboxes, and package (unmanaged, managed, and second-generation packaging).
  • Evaluates and assists in the selection and procurement of hardware and software technologies and serves as a mentor for junior developers.
  • Works with stakeholders as well as technical and analytical counterparts to define constraints and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies ( e.g. AWS, Azure, Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of database technologies (e.g. cloud, SQL, Oracle, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Fundamental knowledge of software engineers’ best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with Deployment/Continuous Integration/ Continuous Testing/ Continuous Delivery processes and tools and have expertise in CI/CD tools and framework.
  • Experience with deploying a global application and configuration management.
  • Reviewing the work of other developers and providing feedback.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements to all levels of expertise.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Proficient with integrating complex and/or existing systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
