DescriptionWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Annapolis Junction, MD, USA | Herndon, VA, USA | Seattle, WA, USAAmazon is seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer to join our world-class Amazon Security organization and work within the Response function of the Enterprise Protection Program to help Amazon prevent and mitigate insider risk.As part of the Response team, you will be involved with evaluating, investigating, and mitigating active insider risks on a daily basis. We are looking for someone who is a fan of "diving deep", as well as enjoys building queries and scrappy tooling to identify and mitigate security issues.You will also work with team members and partners within our legal and engineering teams to develop proactive insider risk solutions. You will be effective both working independently and cooperatively across partner teams and able to contribute and deliver results. You will participate in building large scale, customized tools that enable you and the team to rapidly investigate, proactively detect, and increase collaboration across partner teams.This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every few months.Key job responsibilities

Perform deep dive analysis of internal and external datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and activities indicative of insider threats;

Collaborate with engineering teams to build and develop solutions and tools that identify and mitigate insider risk, as well as translate use cases into technical requirements;

Develop feedback mechanisms to drive automation and optimization of analytics and tools;

Provide guidance to peers, managers, and senior leaders on technical direction and improvement opportunities, and;

Communicate and collaborate with partner teams and the security community across Amazon.

Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C or similar object oriented language

Experience with AWS products and services

2+ years of experience using internal and external datasets to analyze and identify trends, anomalies, and activities of threats

2+ years experience analyzing diverse and large datasets using SQL or other analytical tools

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent

Experience implementing security solutions at the business division level or equivalent

Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP

Knowledge of threat landscapes across the technology industry and government entities

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
