PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Communications. The primary purpose of the Senior Content Media Specialist position is to produce media that supports BGE's organizational goals for external and internal use including video, digital graphics design, animation, photography, and light graphic design. This role is focused on storytelling and will produce, direct, shoot, edit and deliver visual media content for BGE's content hub, in person and virtual, social media, employee communications, and other uses. This role will advise internal clients on best practices to leverage video, photographic and computer-based communication tools, including forward-facing technologies and techniques for streaming, social media, etc. to drive brand awareness and customer engagement and other messaging objectives. As needed, the role will also coordinate freelance professionals (producers, photographers, editors, animators, etc.) to ensure quality and efficient delivery. The role will also ensure that safety is a priority for all freelance professionals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Produce, direct, shoot and edit visual media used by Communications and Marketing organization for BGE brand advertising, content hub use (BGE Now), events, BGE social media, and employee communications. (60%)
  • Contribute to editorial calendar that supports Communications and Marketing organization's objectives (15%)
  • Interpret, understand, and advise internal clients through communications challenges to produce solutions that yield desired results. (15%)
  • Responsible for ensuring post-production equipment, programs and file managements processes are kept current. (5%)
  • Oversee freelance professionals and coordinate efficient scheduling of production schedules. (5%)

JOB SCOPE

Responsible for overseeing all elements of pre-production, production, and post-production for Content Media projects. Responsible for organizing and archiving media assets. Must focus on safety during productions and represent the company's safety culture in all interactions, meetings, and productions. Local travel as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field and minimum of 5 to 7 years relevant experience in creative media production
  • Ability to shoot, edit and produce high-quality video products
  • In-depth knowledge of video production processes, special effects and editing
  • Professional expertise editing with Adobe Premiere and designing and creating professional graphics utilizing After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual that works well with a team and adapts to dynamic environment changes
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and produce creative media solutions, including web-based file posting, conversion, and streaming.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn new technologies, techniques, and storytelling processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional experience as part of a news gathering organization and/or production house.
