The Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for monitoring networks and systems, detecting security threats ('events'), analyze and assess alarms, and report on threats, intrusion attempts and false alarms, either resolving them or escalating them, depending on the severity. The Cybersecurity Manager will also be responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data. The individual in this position interacts closely with product vendors and service providers, and across the client’s IT department.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized, or illegal activity• Test and evaluate security products• Design new security systems or upgrade existing ones• Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans in the event of any security breaches• Use advanced analytic tools to determine emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities• Engage in 'ethical hacking', for example, simulating security breaches• Identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption• Investigate security alerts and provide incident response• Monitor identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorized system users• Communicate with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations• Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security• Advice and guide employees on issues such as spam or malicious emails.• Assist with the creation, maintenance, and delivery of cyber security awareness training for employees• Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them• Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments• Perform other duties as assignedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE• 4-year degree in relevant field of study• At least three (3) years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity including demonstrated ability to negotiate, build consensus, and clearly articulate to technical and non-technical audiencesREQUIRED SKILLS• Experience with Cybersecurity Assessment and Management (CSAM).• Familiarity in implementing risk management program by utilizing CIS-Benchmarks, NIST, RMF, HIPPA, HITRUST, and FISMA compliance.• Experience testing system security controls and determining security compliance with requirements.• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle processes.• Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response and identity and access management.• Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security procedures.
