Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Senior Data Architect in Baltimore, MD. The particulars of the opportunity are below:

Roles and Responsibilities: Leads a team of technology professionals across a broad range of disciplines including database management, data architecture, project management and implementation of best practices in the discipline of data and analytics. Create the data and analytics vision and strategy. This should align to clients larger strategy and the needs to department. Provide data warehousing strategies that provide consistent, clean, and integrated data. Establish an architecture and a collection of integrated decision support-applications and databases, providing easy access to business data. Supervise and mentor cross-functional team of professionals that include data scientists, data engineers, database administrators, developers and GIS. Assist in the formulation and adoption of data governance in Baltimore. Supervises to ensure the efficient working of IT staff, and ensures compliance to deadlines, and provides upgrades to systems when required. Ensures team members develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized areas, remaining up to date on current trends and best practices. Evaluates new technologies for competitive advantage. Applies contemporary business principles in the execution of strategic goals. Works with team to enhance current technology to improve customer satisfaction and services. Manages vendor relationships to deliver quality solutions for long term benefit. Anticipates future needs and initiates proactive solutions to satisfy needs. Champions change and effectively manages the implementation of new ideas. Manages the development of direct reports with coaching and training.

Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; and Seven years of related experience; including Three years of supervisory responsibilities as disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing, and promoting of subordinate employees. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous IT experience in government is preferred.

Skills Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of Data and Analytics best practices. Knowledge of project planning and scheduling; business continuity of operations planning; audit and compliance programs; and pertinent laws, regulations, and best data governance practices. Ability to analyze and resolve complex business problems. Ability to supervise, plan, and schedule the work of a professional staff and coordinate large initiatives in an agency defined by cross-functional activities. Ability to analyze and resolve complex business problems. Excellent communication skills which include the ability to prepare and deliver a cohesive strategy to executive leadership. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers. Considerable experience in technical leadership around data. A mix of experience in various IT disciplines such as vendor management, enterprise architecture, data governance and other disciplines will also be considered.
