YPosition Type ManagementPOSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Director, US and Canada Hotel Technology Compliance is the primary operational leader responsible for ensuring the compliance of all US and Canada Hotels with the company’s Technical and IT Security Standards. They have a specific focus on coordinating compliance efforts across all facets of the US and Canada Continent IT Organization, driving efficiencies and compliance metrics through direct engagement of Continent IT, Global IT, and our internal and external partners. They will work in a cross functional organization providing thought leadership and consultation services to ensure that our environment meets all compliance standards while ensuring an effective operating environment minimizing impact to our property operations and leaders. Understands technology designs, compute, security requirements, storage and networking in multiple platforms and environments. Establishes strong rapport with Corporate IT partners, along with Regional Operations teams and the Field Services organization.CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDEDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in computer science, management information systems, business administration or Lodging/Hospitality or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Graduate level training preferred.EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Ten+ years of experience; Business or Operations background with a demonstrated track record of leading and developing a strong organization and managing technology projects of significant scope and size. 2+ years’ project management experience 2+ years’ experience in defining and documenting business processes and requirements (system, project, etc.) 2+ years’ experience in IT strategic planning Demonstrated ability in developing and applying technology enabled solutions to business problems. Experience in building solid relationships with clients and vendors, as well as having excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience in engineering solutions that solve business needs. Experience in development of technical standards and operational procedures to advance IT solutions. Project Management or experience with leading projects from inception to delivery to result. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Develops strategies to drive continent compliance efforts, internal/external audits, and other initiatives in balance with market objectives. Provides consultation and identifies areas of opportunity. Assist VP US & Canada Hotel Technology Compliance in running and ensuring smooth operations that properly support the business requirements including participating in senior leadership meetings when called upon, supervising special initiatives, engaging ownership partners in conjunction with the appropriate teams to drive the larger technology compliance metrics. Partners with the organization to identify creative approaches to solving challenging and matrixed compliance issues by providing scalable solutions that can be easily adopted by the field, Stimulate business agility with implementation tools and technology that are scalable, evolving regional and shared services environment to execute on various continent/discipline deployment initiatives. Synthesizes company’s technical environment to drive economical, more efficient, cost saving solutions. Engages and consults owners of technology solutions deployments and requirements. Leverages technology industry verticals to drive new thinking and competitive advantage.Business/Functional Results Forecasts and manages against previous trends in business volume changes and can react quickly to new business patterns. Ensure accurate reporting of continent scores across IT Security, technology standards, and general compliance requirements. Develops organizational success metrics so as to measure team and technology efficiencies & effectiveness and ensure achievement of balanced scorecard goals. Drives accountability by assessing potential IT systems & services capability/awareness); identifying gaps and building recommendations based on findings. Educates the larger community about the importance and ramifications associated with maintaining overall compliance.Managing Execution/Building Relationship Creates an environment of a continually learning organization and provides the change management leadership necessary to keep the team abreast of the latest technologies needed to effectively support the organization. Create mechanism to drive governance of data and measures of compliance and offerings. Cultivates a close partnership with other IT functions to provide a seamless response to the information technology needs of our hotels and other MI field-based locations. Partners with various discipline stakeholders to seek/assess technology requirements to meet discipline-specific initiatives (i.e. Engineering, Food & Beverage) Contribute to thought leadership across the US & Canada Continent IT organization and in business partner organizations Operate as a technical subject matter expert across multiple technologies to develop holistic capabilities Analyze design constraints, trade-offs and technology gaps to drive solutions to reduce IT Field Associate cycles Create and drive a compelling vision, clear direction and strategy for the team Attract, motivate, develop and retain highly skilled associates; champion and model leadership development Creates forward thinking environment to challenge organizational norms and accepted thinking to drive success, to include a work environment that drives associate engagement and enables business success Ensure appropriate processes are in place and executed to drive collaboration and alignment within the team and with the broader IT organization.
