Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer, Enterprise Networks is responsible for creating and improving secure network services and solutions that ensure the best experience possible for Marriott Associates, contractors, and customers. The Engineer will be working with leading edge technologies and network frameworks including cloud networking, SASE, MCNS, SDWAN, AI enabled solutions, etc. The successful candidate will be working on our major initiative to transform our global wide area network which is a foundational effort to support Marriott’s cloud first philosophy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field experience/certification
• 7+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer with 7 or more years in a hands-on role that implements engineering standards, documenting engineering designs, and participating in project cutovers.
• Implementation of WAN, LAN, and datacenter networks with a focus on mission-critical, customer-facing applications and services
• Technical Knowledge in networking (Cisco and non-Cisco) with an emphasis on software defined networking (SDN), firewalls, DNS, NTP, Network Tools and Management as well as common routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc) deployed across large global networks
• Experience designing and delivering networking service in public clouds such as AWS, Azure, AliCloud, Google Cloud Platform, OCI, etc
• Experience designing and delivering WAN connectivity to public clouds utilizing “direct connect” type technologies

• Experience leveraging automation, AI and machine learning to deploy and manage networks
• Experience with writing applications to support network automation
• Development and deployment of virtualized network services
• Vendor experience: Cisco; Juniper/Mist; Palo Alto Networks FW, Prisma and SDWAN; ServiceNow; Netskope; Zscaler;; Aviatrix; Alkira; Equinix Fabric
• Cloud Networking Certifications
• Strong inter-personal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with other non-Network technical teams and non-technical customers
