As a Senior Software Analyst on the GEICO IT squad, you'll thrive in a fast-paced innovative culture that turns data into information and uses that information to drive action. As part of the SVOC team you will interact with various IT and business partners to design and implement data driven solutions that move our business forward. As a senior team member you will have the opportunity to mentor other associates and help our team grow!

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong business mindset with ability to collaborate with business partners to identify needs and opportunities for delivering improved data driven solutions
  • Individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment
  • Strong SQL, data mapping, and data profiling skills required
  • Significant experience in facilitating the discovery process with functional stakeholders to identify requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Experience in developing test plans and scenarios to ensure the highest quality deliverables
  • Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field (business, finance, mathematics, computer science), or equivalent professional experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding and experience with Web Services and APIs
  • Experience in querying NoSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of Big Data technologies
  • Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment

Coverage begins with the pay period after hire date. Must enroll in New Hire Benefits within 30 days of the date of hire for coverage to take effect.

The safety of our associates, both current and future, is GEICO's highest priority. At this time, most of our associates are working remotely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area. Once GEICO determines it is safe for associates to return to the office, candidates may be required to work in our Chevy Chase, MD office.
