Position: Senior Systems Engineer Location: Bethesda, MD 20814 - Position can be remote. Being able to come to the office occasionally would be an advantage though.Duration: 1 Year contract with the potential to convert Job Summary:Work on relocation of Marriott’s mainframe disaster recovery (DR) site from east coast to west coast, also performing related systems programming tasks. Candidate Profile Required Experience:• 5+ years solid background in disaster recovery (DR), high availability (HA), continuity of operations (COO), and backup systems engineering• Designing mainframe DR solutions and performing DR testing• 5+ years performing general z/OS systems programming• Experience with IODF and DFSMS/DFHSM engineering and operations• Ability to troubleshoot user/application/storage system issues in batch and online environments. Desired Experience:• 5+ years storage experience with EMC virtual tape (DLm and Data Domain / VNX) and DASD (VMAX/PMAX), including related replication technologies• IBM z15 and z16 processor experience• Hardware configuration• Performance monitoring and tuning. Other Requirements:• Perform analysis of the current mainframe/DR environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement• Create and update system documentation as necessary.
