Software Developer (Cold Fusion and WebApp Development)

Position Description CGI is looking for ColdFusion Developers to join our Federal Business Unit supporting one of our long-term growing contracts within a government agency based in Baltimore, MD. The developers will be key resources within customer's business intelligence and predictive modeling team.

Work is being conducted remotely during COVID safety measures with eventual return to onsite work once pandemic conditions have passed.

This position is located at the client site in Woodlawn, MD

Your future duties and responsibilities• Maintain current web applications and troubleshoot technical issues• Expand upon pre-existing ColdFusion content and build additional content• Ability to quickly interpret and understand code with differing development styles• Build new web applications that are connected to the existing content• Translate user requirements into technical tasks• Ability to design, alter, troubleshoot ColdFusion content• Ability to summarize progress and articulate issues to the project team• Planning and organizational skills with a strong focus on attention to detail• Connect data sets from SQL server to the charts/tables in ColdFusion• Ability to take ownership of specific tasks and follow the client team lead's direction through to completion with minimal supervision• Experience building highly scalable, responsive web applications and web services using technologies such as C#, Web API, TypeScript, and JavaScript

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• 3 to 5 years of ColdFusion experience• Experience using JavaScript for screen/form validation or other client site (browser) processing• Ability to integrate JavaScript charts (i.e. AmCharts, HighCharts) into a web dashboard• Ability to follow existing configuration management and application development protocols• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail• Well organized with proven success in managing assignments to timely completion• Values-based personality with the ability to work independently and in a team environment• Ability to maintain positive and healthy relationships with contract project team and the client• Experience working with systems analyst to provide technical perspective on gathering requirements/business process information• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS• Proficient in My SQL

Desired qualifications:• BS/BA degree with 7+ years of experience• 6+ years of ColdFusion experience (minimum version 2016 preferred)• Ability to write technical White Papers and systems design documents• Experience in Agile software development methodologies is a plus• Experience with RequisitePro or other requirements management tool is a plus• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and the ability to write unit tests is a plus• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSS); MSSS v2014 preferred• Experience working with jQuery and Ajax for client side processing• Experience with XML and JSON for reading/working with different data formats• Strong administrative management skills• Strong client facing consulting skills• Section 508 experience• Federal security credentials preferred
