DSA is looking to hire a results-oriented Software Specialist IV to support the JPL-CBRN Integration on Site in Edgewood MD.The Software Specialist must demonstrates excellent problem solving and communication skills to work on our team.Requirements include but are not limited to SECRET CLEARANCE and:

  • The Software Specialist shall possess eight (8) years of general experience and four (4) years of experience with government information systems.
  • The Software Specialist shall possess experience with, and an ability to integrate and interoperate with, a wide range of applications and technologies from various sources across the Army and DOD enterprises.
  • The Software Specialistshall possess as many of the following as possible
    • should possess experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting in virtual data center environments.
    • should possess experience with administering web based application servers including Java Application Servers (Tomcat 7/8), Internet Information Services (IIS) 7+, Jetty 8+, ActiveMQ, Karaf (OSGi).
    • should possess development experience in Java/JSP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Dojo, JQuery, Grails, PHP, DotNet.
    • should possess database experience in MS SQL, Postgre SQL, MySQL
    • should possess IAT-II Cyber security Workforce or Certification in Windows Server 2016/2019.
    • should possess the oral and written communication skills necessary to articulate information in a clear and concise manner, as well as a keen attention to detail. In addition, the contractor shall be a motivated self-starter with the ability to perform duties and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • should possess familiarity with JPEO-CBD programs.
Software Specialist Performance Based Tasks Required
  • shall manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure in a Virtual Data Center environment.
  • shall install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • shall proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • shall monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
  • shall maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • shall write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • shall participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • shall provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
  • shall liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
