Our well-known, direct client in Chevy Chase, MD is looking for several experienced, senior-level Java Developers. You'll be developing code to support several of their core technology systems. This is an Agile environment, so experience following Agile/Scrum methodologies is required! This is a 3 month contract-to-hire position, and would generally follow an EST schedule Day-to-day responsibilities: - Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment. - Scope, design, implement and unit test frontend features for new and existing web pages. - Design data driven Restful APIs that orchestrates between frontend and backend microservices. - Build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution. - Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle. - Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization. - Define, create and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective. - Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams. Essential Skills:- Excellent Technical Skills in Java and J2EE with at least 5 years of development experience. - Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST), Apache Camel, Spring Framework and Hibernate - Experience with Testing Framework tools such as SOAPUI and JUnit. - Experience troubleshooting applications and provide support for issue resolution. - Experience with MQ messaging. - Strong testing, debugging, and triage skills - Knowledge of open-source frameworks - Good Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle - Good Understanding of Agile Development Methodologies. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent analysis and design skills and troubleshooting skills in object-oriented technologies Plusses:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or an equivalent field of study - Experience with Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Splunk, SonarQube, Veracode, or similar tools - Familiar with MuleSoft framework for developing integration services - Experience with databases such as SQL Server and Oracle - Experience with designing application using Visio or similar tools - Knowledge with applications servers like JBOSS - Proficient with heap/thread dump analysis - Familiarity with cloud technology and Infrastructure - Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
