Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Information Security organization supporting the Intelligence and Incident Response Team infrastructure deployed to the Northrop Grumman Managed Network (NGMN). Northrop Grumman's Intelligence and Response (I&R) team, is tasked with a unique cyber mission to provide counterintelligence and cyber threat protection to Northrop Grumman's intellectual property, networks and sensitive data against a variety of highly skilled adversaries.

The I&R team is looking for an experienced and highly motivated system administrator to join our Operations Support team and assist with installing hardware and software, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various mission critical systems. These solutions support and integrate with various operating system platforms within the NGMN.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Management of Linux servers, storage devices, and networking equipment• Enforcing server security policies • Managing back-ups and replication schemes • Automating the management and monitoring of systems• Analyzing vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware and software. • Generate reports on operational problems, plans, and progress. • Write or contribute to standard operating procedures and other documents. This shall include providing status on all non-recurring projects and infrastructure activities, ensuring that all formal processes, procedures and work instructions are followed appropriately, and that all customer requirements are met by all engineering designs and installations.Work outside of normal work hours to support operational requirements as needed is required. Occasional travel within the US and possibly abroad to NG facilities and data centers is required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must have a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of experience or an Associate's Degree with 11 years of experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 13 years of experience.
  • Must have Linux server administration experience
  • Must have experience with Scripting languages (Perl,Python,PHP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 years of systems administration related to Computer Network Defense analytical tools. Equivalent education or experience will be considered.Experience with cyber defense infrastructurecomponents (e.g. SIEM, IDS, proxy, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud-based cyber operations
  • Strong attention to detail

Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
