Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for our non-profit organization based in Bethesda, Maryland. This role centers around managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and integrating financial data into QuickBooks. You will be responsible for credit card billing and other related tasks. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks including invoicing, tracking, and reporting Input and maintain financial data in QuickBooks Pro accurately Handle credit card billing operations in a timely and efficient manner Regularly review customer credit applications, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date Maintain accurate customer credit records, updating as necessary Monitor customer credit accounts, identifying and addressing any issues promptly Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments, adhering to all rules and regulations Resolve customer credit inquiries, providing high quality customer service Work in compliance with all financial regulations and standards pertaining to the non-profit industry. Requirements Must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, ideally within the non-profit sector Proficiency in managing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential Expertise in using QuickBooks Pro for accounting tasks and financial management is required A strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and regulations is necessary Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for liaising with different departments and external stakeholders Must have strong analytical skills for financial reporting and forecasting Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy in all work Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required detail oriented certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
