Position SummaryThis position is for Technical Services Lead for project located in Columbia, MD. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member that will collaborate openly and has proficient oral and written communications skills and superb technical skills. As a technical leader you will be engaged in the administration of key vendor technical relationships, coordinating research and technology evaluation, long-term strategy development as well as commissioning activities of technology of interest. In this role you will provide a critical bridge between technical representatives and our task teams performing level of effort support to meet requirements.Your coordination with other tasks leads will include voice and data telecommunications systems engineering and lab operations and troubleshooting efforts as well as lead the team’s efforts to research and recommend creative and innovative methods and solutions for telecommunications, networking, and other IT-related tasking. In addition to these responsibilities, you will coordinate and maintain a schedule of tasking, and maintain frequent communications both internally and externally about progress on tasks, risk identification and mitigation, as well as impacts on priority work that is identified by the client and managed by the task leads assigned to that work.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates technical vendor relationships to meet the overall Infrastructure requirements for the program.
  • Monitors technical requests from the stakeholder teams, coordinates research activities to support end goals, assesses technical issues/concerns for stakeholder consideration, provides support to the task team, develops schedule and periodic status tools/methods, and communicates associated cost or schedule risk management issues to stakeholders, and supports other team leaders with requirements and priorities.
  • Oversees and coordinates vendor commissioning and testing.
  • Participates in the program level quality management program, providing input and guidance on technical innovations and creative ways to meet requirements.
  • Coordinates work closely with the programs task team leads, planning vendor technical support and research related tasking as required to meet requirements.
  • Provides key zippering interfaces with client leads as assigned by the PM while collaborating with these representatives to determine specific requirements and priorities
  • Serves as the primary interface with other program stakeholders, as assigned by the PM, to ensure an integrated team approach to problem solving/conflict resolution are in alignment with the overall needs.
  • Influences others on the project team outside their direct line of supervision to ensure priorities and needs are met.
  • Works closely with the Programs Procurement Manager to ensure alignment around vendor technical and business concerns, supporting negotiations and communications related to purchasing activities.
  • Works as part of the task team and individually, as needed, to deploy solutions.
  • Prepares progress and special reports for stakeholders as assigned.
  • Participates in special assignments and administrative studies as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications
  • You must possess an active TS SCI security full scope poly clearance required
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with thirteen (13) years’ experience relevant to Information Technology OR nineteen (19) years’ work experience relevant to Information Technology in lieu of degree.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical experience with IT Infrastructure and Telecom Equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to telecoms and network architecture
  • Schedule development and tracking experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience leading small teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading the scheduling, deconfliction, and risk management of technical work scope
  • Experience implementing quality management processes on lab infrastructure environments
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
