About the Position: Serves as a Senior Transportation Specialist in the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) leading, planning, guiding and coordinating the work of traffic operations and exercises worldwide/system-wide traffic management and control of traffic for Technical Support Division Responsibilities Plans, guides and coordinates the work of those employees engaged in directorate traffic operations and exercises worldwide/system-wide traffic management and control of traffic. Exercises extensive knowledge of the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) as it relates to utilizing sound judgment on all segments of traffic management operations. Studies, reviews, analyzes, interprets and implements directives, policies and procedures emanating from higher echelons and assures uniform application. Advises the Security Assistance Management Directorate on transportation matters regarding all Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Programs. Identifies and evaluates actual/potential transportation problems based on performed studies and recommends solutions to Senior Leadership. Provides guidance on shipment expediting, transportation cost estimating, re-consignment, resolution of misdirected freight discrepancies, and reporting hazardous material Coordinates work to be accomplished by team members, establishing priorities and scheduling completion. Gives advice or instructions to individual employees on work matters. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11/ NH-02 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Advising on transportation provisions; 2) Providing recommendations on transportation issues; and 3) Coordinating Freight Classification and Hazardous Material Data to ensure properly coded IAW regulations. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS-13 grade step 05 in the broadband. This position is covered by control points to account for variances in position responsibilities within the broadband. The Control Point for this position NH-03 Traffic Management Specialist is $99,200 to $133,692 including locality at the rate of 33.26%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Transportation Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
