Broadly speaking, the OC Department's work is focused on strengthening the alignment between business priorities and organizational strategy (structure, processes, jobs), preparing associates to work effectively in our operating model. Through expertise in these areas, the OC department works to ensure that Marriott International (Ml) is structured and has the operational processes in place to grow – and that the right resources are focused on the company’s key priorities.JOB SUMMARYThe Vice President -Organization Capability (VP – OC) will report to the SVP, Talent Management & Organizational Capability and provide leadership by:Having a deep technical expertise and knowledge of MI’s business. Understanding of the strategy, priorities, and operating models for Marriott’s global disciplines and continents.

Partnering with senior executives to evolve the company’s operating structure to reflect changes in business environment, implementation of technology, and evolving strategies.

Establishing and ensuring the execution of leading practices in the areas of organizational design and governance

Partnering with HR leaders to drive the companies most significant organizational initiatives.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES Specific VP-OC Responsibilities will include:Specific VP-OC Responsibilities will include:Senior PractitionerServing as a senior practitioner that partners with the company’s senior-most continent and technology leaders to translate business strategies and priorities into effective organizational operating models.

Driving organizational design innovation, advocating and educating on solutions that may differ from past practices.

Ensuring that Marriott has structure, processes, and work practices in place to drive the growth of the company.

Establishing and driving agile work practices across the company.

Ensuring organizational designs, governance, and processes align with and leverage available technology platforms

Ensuring that operating models are in place to enable collaboration, productivity, and decision making.

Leveraging data and analytics to ensure focus on the most impactful opportunities for the business and to evaluate effectiveness of solutions.

Team DevelopmentAttracting and developing a high-performing team, ensuring a strong bench of COE and HR talent.

Creating broader enterprise capability as it relates to organizational design through on-going learning, consultation and partnership with HR leaders, globally.

Seeking opportunities to leverage knowledge, resources and work activities across Ml departments/divisions.

THE CANDIDATEEXPERIENCE:12+ years of HR leadership, including organization design and development work experience; demonstrated progressive growth from more junior to senior roles

Exceptional influence skills – must be able to consult with and influence senior executives to lead organizational change.

Proven track record designing, developing, and implementing high impact organization capability solutions in large, complex organizations, using a variety of delivery methodologies

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional work teams in a matrix organization

Demonstrated ability to make data-driven recommendations and decisions.

Experience leading organizational change initiatives

HR Generalist and/or consulting experience a plus

Hospitality/Lodging industry experience a plus;

BS (or equivalent) in business, organization development, human resources, psychology, or related field required

MS (or equivalent) in business, organizational development, human resources, psychology, or related field preferred

SKILLS:Strong consulting skills

Exceptional influence skills

Expert in performing organizational diagnostic work and needs assessments

Strong program and project management skills are essential

Strong qualitative data collection and analysis skills required; strong research methods, and quantitative data collection and analysis skills highly desirable

Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with team members, internal stakeholders and external constituents; and ability to influence change through these relationships

Must have sharp business acumen
