Maryland Carey Law seeks an early career Visiting Assistant Professor to teach criminal or juvenile defense for one year, from July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.The VAP will teach weekly clinical seminars, supervise students in either youth or criminal defense cases, and meet with students weekly in supervision meetings. This position is designed to mentor early career academics interested in clinical law teaching. In addition to teaching the clinic, the VAP will have the opportunity to develop their scholarly writing and participate in legal theory workshops. UMB is a public university and constituent institution of the University System of Maryland. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. Minimum Qualifications: · J.D. degree with a record of high academic achievement from an ABA-accredited law school. · Prior law school teaching experience preferred.
