Position: VMWare Engineer/ Senior Systems Engineer Location: Baltimore, Maryland Duration: Long Term Job Description: Maintaining Windows servers, reviewing monthly updates, and patching servers. VMware vCenter server management, monitoring performance of virtual servers and hosts. Assistance with support of storage systems, specifically Cisco Hyperflex and Cohesity Storage. Monitoring performance and disk or volume usage. Increasing or decreasing allocated space when required. Assistance with monitoring backup jobs and performance, resolving errors and maintaining the backup library. Assistance with moving Medicaid IT projects forward regarding development, test and disaster recovery environments. Help train, assist and provide advice to lower-level CNS and CISS Medicaid IT staff on the resolution of complex problems Versions of VMware and vCenter - 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 6.7 Features of VMWare needed DR, HA, vMotion, vSphere, etc Being familiar with encryption (Folder or Full Disk), BitLocker is a plus. Being familiar with hyper converged solutions, Cisco HyperFlex is a plus. Being familiar with shared storage solutions, network shares, Cohesity is a plus. Being familiar with deployment solutions, WSUS, PDQ, Manage Engine Desktop Central or Tanium also a plus Candidate must have good communication skills and proactive in nature VMWare certification is preferred.
