Akkodis is seeking a Shop Focal Engineer with a global aviation manufacturer in Lynn MA

Contract: 1-year, possible extension/conversion to direct

Pay/Salary Range: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour

Onsite Lynn, MA

This person will be present in the shop, integrate with the shop team on the floor on what type of cost saving projects are possible. Do some gimble tracing, what's being done and what can be done better then pass those ideas back to the team, propose those ideas to product line to get funding and run with it. Support CID (change in design initiatives), ensure they are implemented. Be the voice of engineering, understand how the product is made, etc. Will serve as the liaison between engineering and shop, build relationships. Work within value stream team.

Shop Focal Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

• Interface between sourcing, quality, engineering, and purchase services resources executing defined projects

• Drive MSO cost projects to implementation.

• Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization

• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as needed.

• Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments within the shop.

• Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

• Influencing and program management skills

• Minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in an engineering position
