Description We are in search of a Program Assistant to join our music department at a renown higher educational institution based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role entails a variety of responsibilities, including processing student forms, managing website content, and overseeing various departmental operations. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity that must be initially completed 37.5 hours on site; Monday- Friday 9am-5pm. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage student advising and processing of population and prerequisite waivers Maintain and update departmental website content Recruit, train, and supervise general office student employees Monitor and report on course populations during registration and add/drop periods Process faculty requests for additional compensation, class cancellation, and teaching substitutes Advise students on the compliance and fulfillment of the Student Major Bundle Program Coordinate and manage Visiting Artist accommodations and support requirements Handle and reconcile purchasing receipts monthly Track and monitor operating budget account balances Maintain a professional demeanor in the department front office Oversee the coordination of Chair and Assistant Chair Calendars Represent the department at various events such as Berklee’s Majors/Minors Fair and annual Welcome events Coordinate Annual Student Production Showcase Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements Proficiency (preferred) in using Apple Macintosh computers and related software. Familiarity with expense account management and reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills. Knowledge of standard accounting practices and procedures. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
