Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the IT Services industry based in Westwood, Massachusetts. This role involves handling a variety of accounting tasks, emphasizing on the processing and scanning of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and overseeing the full cycle of the accounts payable process. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Monitor accounts payable inbox and email for incoming vendor invoices Ensure timely and accurate processing and scanning of vendor invoices Handle the full cycle of the accounts payable process efficiently Oversee purchase order matching and send bills to the appropriate manager for approval Prepare for the check run process to facilitate smooth transactions Set up new vendor accounts to maintain an updated database Process credit applications to ensure customer creditworthiness Utilize accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning tools for efficient operations Perform account coding and accrual accounting tasks as required Conduct periodic auditing of accounts payable processes for accuracy and compliance. Requirements Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) role within the IT Services industry Proficiency in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting Familiarity with Accounting Functions and Auditing processes Knowledge of Accounting Software Systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services and Concur software Understanding of Automated Clearing House (ACH) operations Strong numerical and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field.
