AR Accountant

Description We are in search of an AR Accountant to join our team located in Billerica, Massachusetts. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity and will have you working in the industry of Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, and Cash Collections. As an AR Accountant, you will be tasked with the responsibility of ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer invoices, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving any billing and payment discrepancies.Responsibilities: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of government contract account billings Manage the sending and processing of government contract invoices via different channels like email, fax, mail, or customer online systems Post invoices to respective customer portals as required by the customers Resolve any billing and RMA debits or disputes efficiently Initiate collection activities to ensure timely payments by customers, which includes making outbound collection calls and contacting customers via email Maintain detailed collections notes in the respective ERP system Investigate source documents and liaise with various internal departments as well as customers to obtain necessary information to reconcile discrepancies in payments Post cash receipts to customer accounts in the respective ERP System Reconcile and resolve short payments received. Requirements Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable (AR) role Demonstrable knowledge of Billing procedures Experience in Cash Collections and related tasks Proficiency in using various accounting software Strong mathematical and analytical skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
