About the Role:

This position is responsible for advising and supporting the Senior Vice President (SVP) & General Counsel (GC) of the Enterprise Services Division (Legal & Privacy, Real Estate, Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Law Enforcement) on all divisional activities and operations in order to improve productivity and effectiveness. This role requires the experience and judgment needed to understand organizational dynamics and navigate expertly to drive transformation in a complex organization. In collaboration with the Division's department Administrative Officers, this position provides direct support to the SVP/General Counsel's in conceptualizing, planning and executing high-profile / high impact goals including operational, financial, risk management, talent management, professional development and diversity, equity and inclusion goals. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success and will also support the communications strategy for the Enterprise Services Division. Additionally, this position serves as the centralized point of contact between the SVP/General Counsel, officers and Bank staff, and will report directly to the SVP/General Counsel.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive performance of the division by developing key thought-partner relationships with department leadership within the division, setting/supporting challenging goals, and advising on strategic decisions
  • Create a strategic direction and deliver on strategic opportunities through engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to assess gaps, identify solutions, and lead change; scanning the environment to frame recommendations and to formulate business cases for collective action
  • Build cohesion and alignment across the Enterprise Services Division acting as the voice for human capital management, including diversity, equity and inclusion objectives; organizational effectiveness; marketing and communications; financial planning; stakeholder management; and project management of key stakeholder deliverables. Provide support and coordination to ensure consistent approaches and communications across the division's departments.
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations by identifying the need for centralization of cross-functional activities; leading or transitioning activities so they are successful and sustainable; managing administrative support across the units
  • Ensure forward progress of the division's high-priority initiatives by supporting the engagement of division leaders and employees, as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Deliver additional business value by conceptualizing, designing, and leading projects end-to-end, typically in the areas of strategic planning, process redesign, or business transformation
  • Encourage inclusion and innovation by coordinating cross-team collaboration efforts, facilitating division meeting planning and supporting engagement and development
  • Support the SVP, General Counsel through development of proactive briefings and presentations on relevant topics, conducting a range of analytical, advisory and reporting activities for the Enterprise Services Division, facilitating the flow of information to and from the SVP/and ensuring that all action items are addressed
  • Monitor Bank and/ or System-wide initiatives being led by others and briefs the SVP/on the status of the open issues and new developments of relevance to the SVP/ responsibilities in particular, and the Bank or System more broadly
  • Lead, contribute to, and/or participate in a variety of planned or ad-hoc Bank and/or System-wide initiatives, assignments and projects as assigned

Supervision:

This position may be required to directly supervise others.

Knowledge and Experience:

Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Master's degree in business, or related field, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience including a minimum of 5 years In a leadership role.
  • Prior experience at a financial institution or professional services organization required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management or legal administration, budgeting, communications, and talent management, including a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and generate effective and innovative solutions to address change.
  • Proven record of excellent business judgment and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a clear vision for the future while simultaneously identifying actions that ultimately support achievement of the vision.

  • Demonstrates initiative and innovation toward improving efficiency, enhancing effectiveness, and achieving high quality results. Actively supports and promotes a continuous improvement environment
