ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST DEVENS, MA Required Skills:
- Requires BS in Biological or Chemical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Science/ Engineering related discipline.
- Have 0-2 years' experience in a pharmaceutical regulated environment or professional industry.
- Knowledge of microbiology or biochemistry laboratory techniques.
- Excellent manual dexterity including proficiency in aseptic techniques.
- Strong detail orientation with good organizational skills.
- Excellent experimental/troubleshooting aptitude and be initiative-taking.
- The candidate should possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Working conditions:
- Work is performed in a GLP compliant laboratory following techniques which require one to maintain mindfulness, to effectively use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to manage hazardous materials.
- Work in a Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) for long hours.
- Overtime work may be required as needed on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours on short notice.
- The Manufacturing Science &Technology (MS&T) Process Microbiology group is looking for an engaged, organized self-driven individual interested in performing microbiology laboratory techniques and studying the microbial growth characteristics of microorganisms to support biologics manufacturing process.
- The successful candidate will work effectively across teams from multiple functional areas and work independently to accomplish project goals.
- Performs laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids according to protocol/procedures.
- Maintain the operation of laboratory equipment including cleaning and preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Performs basic microbiology techniques including bioburden/ microbial counts, bacterial endotoxin testing, growth promotion testing, practicing aseptic techniques.
- Document test results and writes test reports describing procedures used, including authoring final reports.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical protocol/reports.
- Supporting team with microbial related investigations, Commercial Change Control and Raw Material technical assessments.
