Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Ligand Binding Assay Bioanalyst (Associate Scientist I) to join the Quantitative Translational and ADME Sciences (QTAS) department at Abbvie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA.The LBA Operations Bioanalytical team at ABC QTAS conducts quantitative bioanalysis assays of large molecule therapeutics like mAb, ADC, fusion protein and bi-specifics for Pharmacokinetic (PK), Pharmacodynamic (PD) and Toxicokinetic (TK) studies using ligand binding assays to support drug discovery and early development efforts.The main responsibilities of a Associate Scientist I involve pre-clinical sample analysis using ligand binding assay and automated systems. This position will serve as the subject matter expert for automation and sample and reagent management using electronic tools such as Laboratory Information Management System (rLIMS) and others. Reporting results to project teams which enable Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic analysis.Duties & Responsibilities
Independently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated liquid handling systems.
Collaborate with AbbVie automation experts for continuous lab improvement, scrips writing, and implementation of new assays.
Problem-solver, motivated and able to plan and execute experiments based on bioanalytical protocol and in vivo study design.
Analyze pre-clinical in vivo samples based on operational schedule utilizing liquid handlers.
Data archiving in ELN and LIMS.
Effectively communicate experimental plan and results orally and in writing. Contribute to technical report writing.
Sample management and QC in LIMS.
Write, and update experimental protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or pharmacology.
1-2 years of pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry experience.
Experience with automation systems is a must (Tecan, Hamilton, etc)
Attention to detail.
Ability to properly use common lab tools such as pipettes.
Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment independently.
Experience with ligand binding workflow is highly desirable.
Experience in data driven troubleshooting is highly desirable.
Proven problem-solving ability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to draft technical reports.
Proficiency with computers and data analysis software including Excel and LIMS
Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
