Job Details

The Automation Engineer works with the Automation team to develop custom automation solutions for a wide array of end-user applications. The Automation Engineer researches, develops, designs, programs, and tests control systems, components, and equipment to assure customer needs are met and all end results will be code-compliant.

Responsibilities:

Design automation control equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposesDesign and direct the fabrication of text control apparatus and equipmentManage the budgeted performance goals on all project activitiesDirect project activities to assure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirementsDevelop application of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial useDirect and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installationsUnderstand and maintain expected scope of work and intent on all projectsContemplate and plan all operations for maximum efficiency in conjunction with all involved from conception to completion of project

Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering2-6 years experience in developing/designing/installing electrical control systemsFANUC robotic programming knowledge with handling tool, pick tool, pallet tool, and overall robot controller and programming techniquesAbility to develop and follow electrical one-line diagrams and schematics for detailing electrical control systemsTroubleshooting skills applicable to existing electrical control systems comprised of motors, drives, PLCs, human machine interface, motor starters, relays, and other various controls deployed in a manufacturing settingWillingness to learn and utilize AutoCad ElectricalAbility to program/service industrial control hardware utilizing the following software packages commercial PLC, Programmable Operator Interfaces, HMI software packages, and a robot programming software:Allen Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, Companct Logix, and ControlLogix PLC platformsAllen Bradley PanelView and PanelView Plus platformsRSLogix 500, 5000, and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk suiteFANUC Robotics software programming and integration of robotic arms
