Job Description: The Purification Process Development (PPD) group is responsible for developing robust and efficient purification processes of recombinant proteins and other biological therapeutics from early to late stage of development.We are seeking an analytical scientist who will  work in a collaborative environment to be engaged in the analysis, monitoring and characterization of in-process samples to support the group in improving process performance by optimizing product recovery and impurity removal. This role  will provide analytical support to fellow scientists in the development, optimization, scale up and transfer of biochemical processes. Knowledge and expertise in analytical biochemistry tools related to separations technology like centrifugation, filtration and most importantly liquid chromatography are a must.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:Experience with protein chemistry, protein analytics, and bioprocess technology is requiredExpertise in analytical chemistry using a broad range of separation, chromatographic, spectroscopic and other detection techniques to characterize and monitor protein purification processHands on experience and working knowledge on techniques including but not limited to spectrophotometry, liquid chromatography like UPLC/HPLC (size-exclusion, hydrophobic, ion-exchange, affinity), ELISA, CGE and SDS-PAGE are preferredA working knowledge on Empower and/or ChemStation control and data analysis software is strongly preferredWork closely with colleagues by providing quality data to support product development through all clinical phases in a timely manner; uses understanding of analytical tools to assess and interpret experimental dataMaintains written records (electronic lab notebooks and databases) of all experimental work in accordance with Good Laboratory PracticesLeads in the routine calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of  laboratory instruments, systems or apparatus and may interact with internal site or external vendors in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practices
