Business Underwriter

Description:4-6 months. Hybrid remote and onsite.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and underwrite credit requests in a timely fashion by using spreads, tax returns, financial statements, credit bureaus, applications, web research, appraisals, meetings, and other resources as required
  • Determine if request complies with policy and note any exceptions
  • Examine collateral, cash flow, deal structure, and customer character with relationship managers
  • Accompany relationship managers on customer calls and interact with customers as directed by lender
  • Interact with CPAs, CFOs, and other financial professionals as needed to assist in underwriting credit memos
  • Present written analysis and observe presentations by lenders
  • Conduct market surveys
  • Manage existing customer portfolio by tracking and preparing annual reviews of relationship obligations
  • Update and maintain tracking database
  • Identify potential problem loans and deficiencies
  • Assist customers with questions regarding loans and retail products
  • Other duties as required

Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • At least 2 years of commercial credit experience
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, and Access
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
