Cable Installation Technician

Lead complete design efforts from start to finish and help collaborate on small to large-scale projects and bids, as needed

Be involved in Communication Systems projects not limited to Structured Cabling (components including twisted pair and optical cabling, patch panels and patch cables)

Effectively understand requirements and develop highly functional designs on time and within budget for multiple ongoing projects

Create functional system descriptions, scopes of work, and all corresponding diagrams/documentation necessary for project success

Ensure all diagrams are clear and concise with accurate pricing, and all miscellaneous materials needed have been properly identified and included

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the Account Executive for pre and post sales opportunities, providing technical consultation and analysis as needed

Maintain knowledge of industry trends, latest products, and emerging technologies

Provide technical guidance and oversight during installation and support processes

Field work as needed, including installation, service, terminations, testing, and programming

Tier 2 Support for systems working with manufactures engineers to resolve advanced and complex technical issues

Proactively advise cross-functional teams of any challenges or potential labor needs, while leading the charge to anticipate and engineer solutions

Additional duties as needed

Who You Are:Five (5) plus years of AV, structured cabling, design experience with High School Diploma or equivalent

Able to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex system problems

Experience designing for corporations, educational institutions, or government agencies

Understanding of construction, building codes, and NEC electrical codes

Working knowledge of Structured cabling and network design, installation, termination, and, testing

Experienced with Networking concepts such as switches, routers, and wireless access points

Someone who loves to keep track of emerging technologies and understands how they can be leveraged to meet design requirements

Highly motivated and organized, able to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines

Proactive communicator, who can easily work cross-functionally

Familiar with Google Suite, Visio, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu; or similar software

The following certifications are a plus: CTS or CTS-D, BICSI, RCDD, ANSI, CompTIA A+ or Network

Able to travel to office in Chicopee, MA occasionally and travel up to 40% to client sites during week throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut
