RECEPTIONIST/CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
FULL TIME POSITION
Busy chiropractic and sports medicine practice is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will perform and manage the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as real-time scribing for the doctor. We will provide training and education for the appropriate candidate to develop the skills and responsibilities necessary for success during the first 90 days of your employment and probationary period. Desired candidates should have an interest in providing care within a holistic healthcare environment.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Relative skills valued but not necessary
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone
- Answer the telephone and check for messages, return non-emergency call backs, maintain listing of physician call-backs, communicate with "no-show" patients
- Prepare daily schedule and maintain doctor/patient appointment log
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit
- Verify patient insurance and eligibility
- Assist in examination and treatment under the direction of the physician
- Scribe for doctor during patient exam/therapy
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence per HIPAA Guidelines by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding
- Complete records by documenting patient examination, treatment results and notes for insurance claims
- Maintain and file patient medical records and paperwork
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping patient care information confidential
- Serve and protect the practice and physician by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and standards
- Develop skills through ongoing education and training seminars provided through the practice
- Compose business and patient correspondence
- Attend staff meetings during normal business hours
- Open, sort, and distribute mail
- Inventory of medical and office supplies
- Perform light office housekeeping chores

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.50 - $20 per hour depending on experience/qualifications
