Job Title: Community Marketing Manager at Vertica

Location: Remote (Work from Home) Option available, from U.S. locations only

The Community Marketing Manager will proactively manage and lead all community-related content, scheduling and posting efforts across all Vertica social media channels, and lead conversations with our highly engaged community of followers and customers.

The ideal candidate knows what makes for a good story and engaging post on social media, is an excellent and pithy writer, and has experience with social platforms, specifically LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Reddit, the tools to manage them and a deep understanding of social analytics. They should be entrepreneurial, experienced and committed to the social impact world, and willing to roll up their sleeves, be on the pulse of what is trending on social media in terms of content and platforms, have a passion for detail, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional internal and external teams.

Additionally, this candidate should be data-driven and have a keen sense of audience development. This role will contribute to the efficacy of platform development and audience growth.

Experience Required:
  • 2+ years of experience with moderation of an online business community forum
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise client communications and/or digital experiences
  • B2B event planning, including user conferences and virtual forums
  • Expert project management skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and passionate about fostering connection through digital experiences
  • Digital native with a deep understanding of social media, effective tactics, and metrics
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Salesforce Communities, Slack, and Discord is a plus

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a content marketing plan and editorial calendar
  • Identify and manage the creation of engaging and sharable content for the Vertica blog, social channels, peer review sites, and technical forums (e.g., Stack Overflow)
  • Provide community feedback to management and stakeholders
  • Plan and execute quarterly CAB events
  • Monitor social media activity using key performance indicators
  • Find new marketing and outreach opportunities to push brand image and products
  • Work with AR and PR internal counterparts to push brand image
  • Develop, manage, and promote WW online communities including Vertica User Forum and Vertica User Groups
  • Increase Vertica's adoption within academic institutions for learning
  • Build community from the ground up, understand customer needs and what provides value
  • Foster adoption of the new community platform through creative engagement tactics
  • Mine opportunities for meaningful digital connection among our customers
  • Assist with event planning for an annual user conference and smaller user forums
  • Ideate creative campaigns to engage and grow followers across all social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other emerging platforms
  • Reporting & analytics: pull data and information to inform all monthly and/or quarterly social reports, work to understand and define social KPIs, keeping internal teams up to date on reporting best practices
