One of our clients is currently seeking a qualified Desktop Support Technician who will join and work with their team onsite in Pittsfield, MA. This will be a long-term contract, and the candidate will be part of a team of technicians on-call rotation 24x7. This role will require the candidate to work 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide "smart hands support for infrastructure devices, servers, and conference rooms AV equipment
  • Follow established process and procedures to plan, install, test, and implement computer system hardware or software technologies
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software products
  • Interface and make decisions on operating procedures, analytical approaches, and configuration options
  • Assist users with data backup and restoration
  • Diagnose and resolve PC technical issues
  • Record, track, escalate, and update events through established systems
  • Provide technical guidance and one-on-one training to end-users
  • Provide technical directions on computer and network usage, and provide comprehensive instructions
Required Soft Skills:
  • Ability to converse and communicate appropriately with all levels of the organization
  • Strong customer service skills including written and verbal communications
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivating
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Must have own transportation, valid DL, and clean driving record
  • Must be willing to travel to Selkirk, NY facility as needed
Required Technical Skills:
  • Basic network, support labs, servers, Cisco routers and switches, and console cable experience needed
  • Possess a working knowledge of supporting and providing White Glove service and Audio-Visual conference room set-up and maintenance
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred
  • Dell DES notebook certification and desktop certification preferred
  • Strong Windows and Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
  • Working knowledge of all workstations operating systems support
  • SCCM, Active Directory, remote controlling software experience
  • Remedy or equivalent incident management system experience
  • Anti-Virus Software experience
  • Experience with various peripheral computer equipment, dual monitors, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Experience in support of Common Off The Shelf Products (COTS)
  • Experience with wireless network - basic setup and troubleshooting for PCs, smartphones, and tablets
  • Experience with Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
