- 10+ total years as an electrical engineer with direct experience in alternative component selection
- Own and drive proactive alternative part selection for critical PCBs based on market availability.
- Design, write firmware for, and test PCBs with both analogue and digital circuits for gas analyzers and manufacturing test fixtures. This includes updating old designs, making obsolescence driven changes, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Identify at risk PCB components for obsolescence or shortages and proactively redesign or locate alternatives.
- Test prototype PCBs for new products
- Work with purchasing to secure critical components ahead of required by date
- Work with contractors to update designs, get prototypes, and oversee production scale manufacturing.
- Perform root cause analysis for production or field failures
- Responds to requests for help from manufacturing, service, and application groups needing technical analysis
