Description: Lockheed Martin Energy is developing transformational energy storage technologies that will enable renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, to power our world anywhere, anytime, and at low cost.We seek an Engineering Co-op to provide support for the flow battery development program. This position offers mechanical design, analysis, and hands on prototyping and testing. Projects will be varied and will directly contribute to the commercialization of a product intended to enable wide spread adoption of renewable energy.Qualifications:Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and have a strong attention to detail.Prior design experience is desired, as is exposure to manufacturing methods such as machining, molding, fabrication, or converting.An ideal candidate would have some experience with solid modeling (ex. Solidworks) and mechanical analysis methods (equal parts hand calculations and FEA), but on-the-job training will be provided.Candidates must be excited to design and build prototypes, and be willing to work hands on to troubleshoot and make those prototypes work.This is a full-time, onsite position at our facility in Andover, MA.This internship runs from January - June (6 months).Schedule: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per weekClearance Level: NoneBasic Qualifications:Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program.The candidate must be a US citizen.Desired Skills:Prior design experience is desired, as is exposure to manufacturing methods such as machining, molding, fabrication, or converting.An ideal candidate would have some experience with solid modeling (ex.
