Andover, MA - Hybrid (3 days onsite a week)

Job Description

This role is responsible for

  • Developing, integrating, and testing functional IP blocks for Intel, Microchip, and AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs
  • Performing design verification for complex FPGAs through simulation, timing analysis, and device debug
  • Optimizing system performance to meet demanding customer requirements
  • Modernizing existing FPGA firmware products for technology updates
  • Supporting design teams in bring-up and testing of hardware products
  • Working with systems engineering and customer support teams to reproduce and resolve issues
  • Consult on technical proposals and system designs
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to design and develop system architectures and hardware interfaces
  • Capturing functional specifications and performance requirements
  • Communicate project status and risks to management team
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience designing, implementing, or verifying firmware solutions
  • Expert knowledge of Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Expert designer with Vivado, Libero, and/or Quartus design tools and workflow
  • Expert knowledge of Linux environments
  • Ability to write technical documentation for requirement specifications, test plans, procedures and reports
  • Ability to create and present technical material for both internal and external customers
  • Ability to breakdown customer problems into internal requirements and customer solutions
  • Expert troubleshooting and logic skills
  • Ability to work independently, seeking out information and advice when necessary
  • Ability to lead and mentor in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC
  • Experience with python and/or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Embedded Software Development (C/C)
  • Experience with microcontrollers
  • Experience with lab equipment for data collection and processing
  • Experience with revision control and the use of GIT or similar applications
  • Experience with protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, and SPI
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA and Confluence)
