Job Description

TheI&C Engineer works closely with more experienced engineers and assists in the development of deliverables. Thisindividual is expected to execute work on one or more intermediate level tasks simultaneously as delegated by the Lead or Sr. Engineer.

This individual may also delegate some basic and fundamental tasks to Entry-Level and Design staff. They are still developing andexpanding their ability to coordinate effectively with other disciplines, delegate, interact with clients, and manage scopes of work anddeliverables. This role will have the ability to successfully execute and lead (on small projects) all phases of design including initialprogramming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, andconstructionadministration or hold primary responsibility for one or more of them on a large project. The Individual will expand their knowledge andskill sets to include design and specifications of more complex control systems, using multiple controllers and expanded workstationsand server infrastructure.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in disciplinespecificdegree (ARE,ChemE, ME or EE)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required, preferably in a designfirmsetting

  • Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiencyin AutoCAD and Revit preferred

  • Proficiencyin MicrosoftOfficerequired

  • Basic experience with performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations, and developingand implementing instrumentation and control system design required

  • Basic experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings,fieldwiring plans design preferred

  • Basic experience reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams

  • Basic experience with the electrical code required

  • Basic experience with other applicable industry standards required

  • Basic experience with applicable building codes required

  • Proficientwith basic internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination required

  • Proficientwith basic coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers required

  • Proficientat basic design calculations under supervision of a Lead or Senior Engineer required

Responsibilities

  • Successfully execute and lead (on small projects) all phases of design including initial programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration or hold primary responsibility for one or more of them on a large project.

  • Interface with client and external partners

  • Conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting required

  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications and instrument specifications on basic projects of limited complexity with oversight preferred

  • Basic support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports

  • Participate and contribute to squad and overall commitment to producing quality deliverables

  • Participate in basic project system design programming and master planning with support from lead or Senior Engineer
