GDMS has an immediate opening for a IT Architecture Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various projects of the GDMS organization. In addition to receiving a competitive wage, the IT Architecture Intern will enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. The IT Architecture Intern will be engaged in technology research, solution architecture shadowing some of our experienced team-members while taking on daily tasks helping to build enterprise architecture practice. This internship includes working with the IT Architecture team to drive innovative solutions and build our EA practice. Degree/Skills Required:- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security)
- Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture concepts
- Basic understanding of networking & cloud computing
- Basic understanding of Agile development process
- Basic understanding of Cyber security
- Experience with system administration tasks (i.e. installing, configuring, and maintaining systems) on Windows or Linux platforms
- Public speaking and presenting experience
- Assist with documenting new technologies and/or building our EA practice
- Work with the IT teams to ensure smooth deployment of new technologies
- Assist with the design of security best practices and protocols with regard to new technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new technologies and/or EA practice
