Project CoordinatorThe Project Coordinator will coordinate the schedule, the budget and the issues and risks of various IT and Capability Building projects at the company. It is the Project Coordinator’s job to make sure the project is well-organized, on time, and that it runs smoothly.Hallmarks of this role include:
  • Strong Communication with the various Expertise Areas across the organization to make sure everyone is on the same page. A bridge connecting the project manager and various other project members. They need to understand the message and deliver it clearly to the target audience.
  • A love for fast-paced and challenging work environments where there is always something that needs attention.
  • Detail Oriented. Overseeing the many different aspects of the project plan, scheduling, team coordination, and communication venues important to the project success.
  • Dependable. The project coordinator is a key ingredient to the success of projects at our company. As a result, project managers and team members rely on the Project Coordinator to uphold their responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Productive. Project demands are often significant and time bound. Finding strategies to automate communication, empower project members, and produce project materials with a sense of urgency and scalability is a key skill in this role.
  • Get Things Done. The project coordinator takes direction from the project manager and then works independently to get things done. The ability to “get the job done” is probably the biggest requirement on a project coordinator job description.
  • Tech Savvy. The project coordinator will need to understand the basics of IT engineering and must be able to identify key project team members based on their titles and expertise. This is critical in resourcing your projects accordingly and promptly.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Making sure that your team has the tools, communication, and project materials they need to execute the project.
  • Creating a project schedule, with milestones, due dates and estimates for those materials that are required and other resources, such as team members, which will then be submitted to management for approval.
  • Ensure that key projects have a clear understanding of IT infrastructure and security needs and those requirements are identified on the project plans.
  • Helping with the documentation of each phase of the project, as well as making summary reports that will be presented to the organization’s management team.
  • Working with team members in the field or on site who have project issues.
  • Build solid relationships with team members to develop a strong working unit and supporting their impact on the success of a project.
  • Organizing RFPs with the project manager and vendor responses.
  • Reviewing invoices and providing summary information to the project manager.
  • Managing Vendors—ensuring on time and within SLA delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • PMP certified by the Project Management Institute and have that certification current preferred.
  • Understanding of IT architecture, infrastructure and security requirements and operations
  • Experience with implementing SAS or on-premise solutions
  • Understanding of AWS, networking and server operations
  • Work autonomously, making decisions without too much managerial oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of the Office365 suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Know the concepts related to the management of a project.
  • Knowledge of project management tools, especially cloud-based software such as smartsheet preferred.
  • A strong administration background
