Our Fitchburg, MA Fastener Solutions facility has immediate openings for an entry-level maintenance technician in our extrusion and injection molding operation. The 1st Shift Jr. Maintenance Technician is responsible for changeovers, repairs, troubleshooting machinery and mechanical equipment such as injection molding machines, extruders, auxiliary and assembly equipment. Conducts preventative maintenance tasks to equipment. This position reports into the Maintenance Manager and is directed by the 1st Shift Team Leader. The shift for this position is 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, overtime is required based on business

needs.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks

  • Troubleshoot and repair Manufacturing equipment when breakdown and failure occurs.

  • Install, maintain Installs maintain, repair and adjust electrical systems for production equipment.

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery.

  • Mold changes and machine setups

  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

  • Install, program and/or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or other secondary equipment with programmable controllers.

  • Document all repairs and work daily.

  • Assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

  • Disseminate information at shift change, reporting all problems to Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of molding equipment

  • Back up to Process Technician in shut down and start up of machines

  • Observe proper safety guidelines during the performance of all assigned duties and tasks.

  • Keep work area neat, clean and organized.

  • Health & Safety: Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within the department and assist other areas as required.

  • Teamwork: Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Provide support in project work and other special requests.

  • ELS: Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Complete all other duties or tasks that may be assigned or required of the position.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED required, or relevant work experience. Vocational training preferred.
